Lavallette has begun seasonal beach badge sales for 2021 after initial delays linked to a spike in coronavirus cases in the local area.
The borough, in recent years, has sold badges in time for the holiday season, but this year decided against doing so in order to limit the number of people entering the municipal building. Now, with months to go before beach season begins, badge sales have opened up.
Badges are $50 per person and $20 for seniors ages 65 and older. Badges must be purchased by May 31, 2021 to qualify for the reduced rate. Order forms will be in the Lavallette calendar that is mailed to all homeowners and is also posted online here. Badges will be available to pickup after May 1. The borough will announce pickup times and dates in the future.
Mail-in orders must be received by May 31, 2021. The application form will be removed from borough’s website on May 26.
Councilman Michael Stogdill said at a council meeting Monday night that the location for in-person seasonal badge sales will also be announced in the future.
