A Seaside Heights motel at the north end of town would be torn down in favor of 10 new residential homes, a planning board filing stated.
The board, on Wednesday night, will consider an application by Shree Properties, LLC to subdivide the existing lot into ten proposed single-family dwelling unit building lots. The location of the property is 201 Hiering Avenue, on the corner of Central Avenue. The parcel currently houses the Quality Inn motel.

The property consists of approximately 16,120 square feet, or .370 acres, within the borough’s Retail Business retail business zone. It is currently improved with the motel building, parking lot, pool and other associated and ancillary features. Shree is proposing to tear down the motel and clear the lot, then subdivide the property and develop it with up to 10 single-family homes. The proposed lots will vary in size from approximately 1,383.75 square feet to approximately 2,275 square feet.
The application includes the need for the board to grant minor “bulk” variance for lot coverage and lot size.
The meeting can be viewed virtually on the borough’s live-streaming website.
