Ortley Beach Neighborhood to Have Streets Raised in $2.5M Project

A neighborhood in the Ortley Beach section of Toms River Township will have its streets raised in a $2.5 million project approved by the township council Tuesday night.

The council awarded a $2,496,923 contract to Green Construction Inc., the low bidder, to raise several streets. The streets are:

• Sixth Terrace
• Mariners Road
• Harborside Drive
• Spindrift Road

The project will include physically raising the level of the street surface and improving drainage in order to prevent flooding.
