Congressman Andy Kim (R-3) has canceled a town hall event that had been planned for this Friday in Seaside Park due to the ongoing threat of the novel coronavirus, which has spread to neighboring Burlington County as of Tuesday.
“The health and safety of our neighbors across Ocean and Burlington Counties is the most important thing,” Kim said in a statement. “I’ve chosen to follow guidance by our health care professionals and move our town hall to a format that doesn’t put people at risk,” said Congressman Kim.
Those who are interested in participating are being directed to the website linked here.
Kim said his focus during the town hall will be the Coronavirus outbreak.
“Every day, my office is getting questions on how best to prepare and what this could mean for New Jersey,” he said. “I look forward to continuing that conversation on our tele-town hall to make sure everyone has the information they need to stay safe.”
The Seaside Park event would have been Kim’s 18th in-person town hall with constituents since first being elected in 2018. He is running for re-election in November.
