The Seaside Park annual Christmas tree lighting and holiday party is this weekend, the borough said in an announcement Wednesday.
The tree lighting will take place this Sunday, Dec. 8, at 5 p.m. on the police station lawn, at 6th and Central avenues. There will be music, singing and – of course – Mr. and Mrs. Claus will be stopping by.
At 5:30 p.m., the doors of the Tri-Boro First Aid open, and the party gets underway. This year’s menu will include Eggplant Rollatini, Chicken Francese, Meatballs, Pasta, Salads, Chicken Fingers, Spaghetti, and Desserts. Coffee, Tea, Hot Chocolate, Soft Drinks, and Water will be served. BYOB if you wish. There will also be a gaming truck for the kids.
“Each year we request that attendees bring a bag of nonperishable food for our annual food drive,” said Police Chief James Boag. “Please bring a bag or two of food if you can afford it and help out those that are less fortunate this holiday season.”
The police department will also be collecting at the party for its annual toy drive. Anyone interested in donating is asked to bring an unwrapped toy and place it in the donation bin. All the toys will be donated to the state Division of Child Protection and Permanency.
