A new tradition will begin at the Jersey Shore Saturday night, when a screening of “Finding Dory,” the animated sequel to “Finding Nemo,” is shown on the water at what can be described as a “boat-in” movie.
Movies by the Bay is a new series of events that will be hosted this summer by Seaside Heights, in partnership with MarineMax, a local boat dealership. MarineMax staff will help boaters get situated in the water off the Seaside Heights bay beach (near the Stewart’s Root Beer store) and settle in for the show.
“We’re really promoting the bay area this summer,” said Seaside Heights Mayor Anthony Vaz, speaking of the new event.
A large screen will be set up on the water so boaters can see the movie, and it will also be visible on some of the long docks at the beach.
Michael Graichen, the events director for the borough, said the show will begin at dusk – between 8 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. – and boaters can anchor up where they choose.
