New Jersey’s MAGA March in support of President Donald Trump drew hundreds to Seaside Heights Saturday, where supporters rallied for the president’s agenda and listened to speeches from fellow supporters.
At one point, two anti-Trump protesters made their way into an area set aside for the event. They were loudly booed by march participants, but no violence broke out. Police quickly escorted the protesters to the opposite side of a barricade. There was also an unconfirmed report of an incident where an anti-Trump protester posed as a member of the media and spat at a supporter.
The crowd was estimated to be slightly under 1,000 people, who filled up about four block’s worth of the borough boardwalk.
The MAGA march – taken from Trump’s campaign slogan “Make America Great Again” – was held in cities across the United States on Saturday. At 3 p.m., participants at all of the rallies, including the one on the boardwalk, sand the Star-Spangled Banner.
