There’s just one week left to vote for your favorite beach in New Jersey.

The New Jersey Sea Grant Consortium hosts the contest each year and crowns the state’s top beach with support from environmental and business leaders statewide. This year, Sea Grant has tweaked the contest (which used to be named New Jersey’s Top 10 Beaches) to declare a “favorite” beach in each coastal county.

The annual contest not only provides Shore towns with bragging rights, but highlights the numerous research projects Sea Grant funds each year in New Jersey, from living shorelines, to dunes, to issues affecting Barnegat Bay.
