A lifelong resident of Lavallette who served as the borough clerk for years, Kathleen “Kay” LaVecchia has died.
LaVecchia, 78, passed away June 1 and Community Medical Center in Toms River, according to an obituary.
LaVecchia was born in Queens, N.Y. and was a life long resident of Lavallette, where she worked as the municipal clerk for 20 years. Surviving are her children Janeen Cartnick and her husband Jim of Toms River, Christine Chadwick and her husband Eric of Davidsonville, Md., and Thomas LaVecchia of College Point, N.Y. and her grandchildren Emma, Joseph, James, Olivia, Alexis, Landon, Abigail and Kayna.
