Local Veterans Group to Hold Free Spaghetti Dinner for Vets and Military Members

The New Jersey Veterans Helping Veterans Nationwide organization will be holding a complimentary complete Spaghetti Dinner for Veterans and present members of the military on May 1, the group announced this week.

The event will take place at the AMVET Post 2, 1250 Toms River Road, Jackson. Veterans who are interested are asked to visit www.njvhvn.org and make a reservation. No tickets will be sold at the door and reservations are a must.



“Space is limited so reservations are on a first come first serve basis,” the announcement said.

Guests are encouraged to join their veterans and military members. Tickets can be purchased through the website by PayPal. They are $5. For children under the age of 7 the charge is $3. Military ID required for veterans and service members requesting a complimentary dinner, and shown upon admittance. The doors will open at 3:15 p.m. with the buffet service commencing at 4 p.m.

For those veterans who do not have internet access, they are requested to call the Executive Director of the organization, Don O’Connell at 848­-260­-8400.

In addition, a sister event will take place in Florida at the same time and date. Other events are being planned for the future in Jacksonville, Fla., Orange Park, Fla., and Louisville, Ky.

Once the group’s 501(C)3 is approved a tax donation receipt will be sent to donators.
