From Toms River Township:

The Public Meeting for Sandy Impacted Areas located on the Barrier Island of Toms River to gather input on Existing Zoning Regulations scheduled for Saturday November 14, 2015 has been CANCELLED.

The meeting will be rescheduled at a later date, due to a conflict with dune grass plantings scheduled at the same time.

The public session on the island, as well as a similar session on the mainland, was set to review the existing conditions of the township’s bayfront and barrier island communities to identify opportunities to improve zoning and land use regulations in order to promote storm recovery and resiliency from future storm events.

The input received at the meetings will provide information to township officials on how to “mitigate, reduce or prevent impacts from natural disasters,” the township said in a previous statement.
