Police have charged an Ocean County contractor with two violation of the New Jersey Contractor Registration Act.

Dennis Cleary, 53, of Manahawkin, was charged Friday by Long Beach Township police following an investigation which revealed he was performing home improvements without being registered with the State of New Jersey, Division of Consumer Affairs as a home improvement contractor, police said in a statement.



Cleary was also charged with the section of the New Jersey Contractor Registration Act which requires that certain information must be included in a contract.

Cleary was processed and released on a summons. The matter has been forwarded to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office for review, the statement from police said.
