Lavallette officials approved the funding to pave Guyer Avenue at a borough council meeting Tuesday night.
“We do one street per year, and most of the money is reimbursed to us by a grant from the state,” said Mayor Walter LaCicero.
The borough bonded $285,000 for the project and appropriated $300,00 total for its completion. The bond ordinance is subject to a second vote and final hearing Sept. 21 before bids can be solicited.
In keeping with the borough’s paving plan, the ocean block of Elizabeth Avenue will now move to the first spot on the list, said Borough Administrator Christopher Parlow.
