Residents Urged to Lock Vehicles Following Overnight Thefts

Local residents are visitors are being encouraged to make sure their car doors are locked after two vehicles were stolen overnight in Bay Head.

Mantoloking police said the vehicles that were stolen were both either unlocked or had their keys or key fobs inside at the time. There was no connection between the types of vehicles stolen.



“We are encouraging residents and visitors to please secure your vehicle to prevent thefts,” a statement from the department said.

According to Bay Head police, the cars were stolen between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. in the area of the 500 block of East Avenue and the 400 block of Lake Avenue.

Anyone with information on the thefts (or a surveillance camera) is being asked to contact the Bay Head Police Department asap at 732-892-0632.
