Lavallette’s lengthy process of revaluating its real property is complete, and residents should have received their new assessments in the mail, officials said.

Some homeowners, however, have reported that they have not received correspondence from the borough on their updated assessed value. In some cases, this is because the mailing address for a property is set in Lavallette instead of an out-of-town address where a homeowner may reside if their home is used seasonally.

Any homeowner who is interested in looking at their new assessment for 2020 can look at the 2020 Tax Proof Book online. The link for this file is http://www.lavallette.org/forms/temp/1516_ProofBook_2020.pdf and is also accessible from the home page or the assessor page on the borough website at www.lavallette.org.

Borough Administrator Robert Brice said property appraisals are also available in-person at borough hall, and any residents who wish to change their mailing address should let the town know or else they will not receive a tax bill.
