Family of Bay Accident Victim: A Letter of Thanks to First Responders

The family of Ken D’Elia, a Bayville resident who went missing outside of his bayfront home and was found deceased June 26 in the bay in Ortley Beach, has written a letter of thanks to local first responders and law enforcement agencies that searched for their loved one.

Vincent Daniel D’Elia, a resident of the same street as his brother, forwarded the letter to Shorebeat, which is published below:



On behalf of the entire D’Elia family, we would like to thank and acknowledge the extraordinary efforts put forth by Local Law Enforcement, Search, Rescue and Special Services Units in the investigation and the ultimate recovery of our Beloved Brother, Ken on June 25-26, 2019 at 35 Seabright Ave., Bayville.

From the outset, all involved emergency personnel performed their duties with extreme professionalism and the utmost respect to our Family.  Their efficiency and coordination between the agencies in regards to operations was exceptional.  We were especially impressed with their caring attitudes.

A heartfelt thanks to the Emergency Response Units for their professionalism and well coordinated response.
