Taylor Dayne to Host Free Summer Kickoff Concert in Seaside Heights

Taylor Dayne, the American pop artist who rose to fame with her 1987 hit “Tell It To My Heart,” will headline a summer kickoff concert on the Seaside Heights boardwalk next month.

The concert will be held as part of the borough’s 2019 summer kickoff celebration on May 24, the Friday of Memorial Day weekend. Beginning at 2 p.m. on the Boardwalk in front of Spicy Cantina, local radio station WJRZ 100.1, will start things off with a live broadcast followed by the free Taylor Dayne show beginning at 6 p.m.

“Seaside Heights is excited that Taylor Dayne is bringing the heat to The Classic American Boardwalk for our annual summer kickoff party,” said Mayor Anthony Vaz. “We’ve had country music artists, 70s classic rock artists, and 80s rock bands, but this year we have the best of 80s and 90s pop and R&B music with Taylor Dayne gracing our boardwalk stage.”

Dayne turned into an overnight sensation with her groundbreaking debut single, “Tell it to my Heart” in 1987. She became in international star and followed with number one smash hits such as “Love will Lead you Back”, “Prove your Love”, and “I’ll Always Love You”. She has seventeen top 20 singles over her three-decade career and has sold over 75 million albums and singles worldwide.  In 2019  Taylor released her first book a memoir “Tell It To My Heart”  on February 14th which went on Amazon’s best seller list.

“The Seaside Heights Kickoff to Summer is the perfect way to start the season,” said Dee Pellegrino, owner of DPM Shore Solutions, the company that plans summer events for the borough. “It will be a fun party with lots of dancing and singing.”
