Lavallette Appoints New Planning Board Member

Mayor Walter LaCicero has appointed a new member to the borough’s Planning Board.

John Borowski, the brother of Councilman James Borowski, will be sworn in at the board’s next meeting, LaCicero said.

“He appreciates the opportunity to serve the community,” the councilman said of his brother, a retired attorney from Princeton Avenue.

Borowski said he and his brother, who was out of town during Monday’s council meeting, recently attended a board meeting where John Borowski commented on a case that affected his street.

“I listened very carefully to get his comments on that case … and I found his comments to be right on target,” James Borowski said. “He’s someone who can see the forest from the trees and I think he’ll do very well.”

LaCicero said he held an interview with John Borowski, and the opinions of the two “meshed very well.”
