With forecasters predicting anywhere between 2 and 5 inches of snow to fall by Wednesday morning, attention has also been paid to frigid temperatures that are expected to affect the Shore area after the storm.

Though the forecast high on Wednesday will reach 38, it will be the last day for the remainder of the week where the mercury will rise above the freezing mark. According to the National Weather Service office in Mount Holly, Thursday’s high will be 32 degrees and Friday’s high will be 29 degrees. Both days will be mostly sunny.

Over the weekend, temperatures will dip even farther. Saturday’s high is expected to be just 26 degrees and Sunday’s high will be 22 degrees. Overnight lows over the weekend will drop into the single digits, forecasters say. Looking ahead, temperatures are expected to rebound slightly for next Monday – the forecast high is 34 degrees.
