Ortley Beach Berms Fully Eroded, Video Shows

Two large berms of sand at Ortley Beach have been eroded, new video from the boardwalk area shows.

High tide at Ortley Beach on the ocean occurred at 6:30 a.m. Saturday and the next will occur at 6:58 p.m. The video shows strong ocean waves lapping at the westernmost dune, where vegetation was recently added. Two large berms, shown here in a previous Shorebeat story, look to be complete eroded.

the erosion is really bad this storm

I think it’s about time that we FORCE the HOLDOUTS to sign the damn easements to allow the dune system and beach replenishment project, by the Army Corp of Engineers, to get started. WE NEED THE BARRIER ISLAND TO DO IT’S JOB!! Holdouts are a bunch of selfish bastards. Our governor speaks a bunch of BS, but he isn’t doing anything!!!
